Veterinarian
Dr. Donald Arthur Giles, DVM has been an integral part of Hudspeth Animal Hospital and the Macon veterinary community for over five decades. He earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia in 1967, following earlier studies at Abraham Baldwin College and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from UGA.
Born in Fort Gaines, Clay County, Georgia, and a graduate of Clay County High School (1960), Dr. Giles began his career practicing small animal medicine in Marietta, GA, followed by mixed animal practice in Blakely, GA. In 1970, he relocated to Macon and joined the late Dr. Eddie Hudspeth, beginning a lifelong commitment to Hudspeth Animal Hospital. Dr. Giles is deeply respected for his clinical skill, mentorship, and unwavering dedication to animal care. Outside of veterinary medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild—and is well known throughout Macon for his passion for electrical work. His influence, professionalism, and compassion continue to shape the culture and legacy of Hudspeth Animal Hospital.
